Incisions in Breast Reduction in Turkey assisted by IXALMED

When performing breast reduction surgery in Turkey assisted by IXALMED, a very common concern in patients is where and to what extent the scar resulting from the surgery will have, and the options available. For breast reduction there are 3 incision options that the surgeon may prefer according to the particular situation of each patient, her needs, body shape, breast structure and of course, expectations.

These options are:
Periareolar incision: The scar is around the areola, this incision is used when the size to be reduced is minimal.
Lolipop incision: In this technique the resulting scar is paddle-shaped (around the areola and vertical incision towards the submammary groove.
Anchor: As its name implies, the scar is shaped like an anchor, extending from around the areola, a vertical scar towards the submammary curve and a horizontal scar that is covered in the fold of the breasts.
Scars from breast reduction are inevitable, however they can become less visible over time, with the help of scar treatments and of course, avoiding smoking during the healing process (tobacco affects the healing process and increases the risk of infection).
Scars from breast reduction surgery vary from patient to patient, but are usually red and lumpy for several months, turning white and smooth over time.

Keep in mind that the healing process in each patient is different, and can be affected by several factors:

• Your age.
• Your skin tone.
• Your genetics
• The condition and elasticity of your skin
