Types of Rhinoplasty in Turkey assisted by IXALMED
There are three types of rhinoplasty, the type of rhinoplasty is chosen by your IXALMED associate surgeon according to your particular case and the expectations you have in order to achieve a wonderful result.
The three types of Rhinoplasty are:
Standard rhinoplasty: Here we seek to change the overall shape of the nose, including the bridge, nostrils and the tip.
Rhinoseptoplasty: It is like the standard rhinoplasty, but also in this type of rhinoplasty the nasal septum is worked, usually with the intention of solving breathing problems.
Tipplasty: This type of rhinoplasty only focuses on the tip of the nose and the nostrils.
To perform rhinoplasty, your surgeon can choose the open or closed method.
Closed rhinoplasty surgery is done as the name implies without opening the nose, and the entire procedure is done through the patient’s nostrils.
In the case of open rhinoplasty, a small incision is made in the part of the columella to lift the skin of the nose and reveal the anatomy of the nose. However, there is no need to worry about visible scarring, since once healed, and due to the strategic location of the incision, there will be no visible marks.
Pre-operative and post-operative instructions for Rhinoplasty Turkey assisted by IXALMED
Pre-operation instructions
Do not use alcohol, smoke cigarettes, or chew tobacco for at least two weeks before surgery.
Do not take any product that contains ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, or vitamin E.
Do not drink or eat anything before midnight for your surgery. Fasting is required to receive sedation for surgery.
You can shower the morning of surgery. Please do not wear makeup on the day of your surgery, it is important to go with a clean face.
Wear comfortable clothing, we recommend button-down shirts that do not have to go over your head to put on or take off.
Do not wear jewelry or bring valuables to your surgery.
In case you are following any medical treatment or taking a supplement, please inform your consultant at least 2 weeks before your surgery in order to provide you with the pertinent instructions.
Post-Operation Instructions
Bloating and bruising are normal after surgery, ice your face as instructed by your surgeon.
You will likely feel numbness in your nose, this is normal and should not alarm you.
Please do not touch your nose, or move the tapes and bandages of your nose, as left the surgeon should remain. Your surgeon will make the appropriate tape changes at your checkup appointments.
Avoid smoking (tobacco negatively affects healing and increases the chances of infection and other complications) and drinking alcohol for at least two weeks.
Take all medications according to your surgeon’s instructions.
Avoid using makeup after your surgery, wait for the surgeon’s instructions to apply makeup.
Avoid wearing glasses for the first 2 months after surgery.
Avoid exposing yourself to the sun and especially avoid exposing the scars to the sun for the first 12 months after surgery.
Drink plenty of fluids for the first week to stay well hydrated.
It is very important that you follow the instructions of your plastic surgeon to ensure that your healing process runs optimally.
