How is Blepharoplasty or Eyelid Surgery performed in Turkey assisted by IXALMED?
Depending on the case, a blepharoplasty may be required on the upper eyelid, lower eyelid, or both.
Whatever the case, during blepharoplasty, the surgeon makes an incision along the creases of your eyelids to remove flabby skin and muscles and remove excess fat. Pre-operation instructions
Do not use alcohol, smoke cigarettes, or chew tobacco for at least two weeks before surgery.
Do not take any product that contains ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, or vitamin E.
Do not drink or eat anything before midnight for your surgery. Fasting is required to receive sedation for surgery.
You can shower the morning of surgery. Please do not wear makeup on the day of your surgery, it is important to go with a clean face.
Wear comfortable clothing, we recommend button-down shirts that do not have to go over your head to put on or take off.
Do not wear jewelry or bring valuables to your surgery.
In case you are following any medical treatment or taking a supplement, please inform your consultant at least 2 weeks before your surgery in order to provide you with the pertinent instructions.
Post-Operation Instructions:
Bruising and swelling can usually be expected after eyelid surgery. It can last 2 weeks or more depending on your body and aftercare.
Strictly avoid excessive facial movements, especially sneezing and coughing for the first week.
Take your medications according to the instructions your surgeon gave you.
Do not touch the worked areas.
Strictly avoid sun exposure.
Sleep and rest in an upright position. (As in 2-3 pillows)
Avoid bending over and lifting heavy objects for at least 1 month.
Apply ice and cold compresses to your eyes according to your surgeon’s instructions.
